After installing I did and silicone around the edges to keep water from getting to the tap.I use this in our bathroom to hang towels but these hooks can take a lot of weight. They will rip a hole in the drywall before they come off.Honestly bought it with a huge doubt in mind if it’s going to hold some heavy things. I have adjusted a few hooks for simple kitchen towels, but then I put one on by my door to hold my keys and face mask. But the one I was most skeptical about was placed on the side of my shoe shelf to hold my purse. I started to use it right after I installed it and so far it’s been able to hold all of my heavy purses for days in a row between user. I’m pleasantly surprised. Though I would be careful about removing it from walls, I doubt it’s gonna leave no marks, it’s so strong.Installed in our walk-in shower for over a year now. No issues whatsoever. Look great and match the brushed stainless fixtures too.Funny enough, I thought I was going to use these temporarily on one of walls because I ended up buying a ring. Little did I know as I was trying to replace it, I was having a hard time removing it! Its pretty darn strong adhesive. So I ended up leaving it... with the other towering on the side. Quality is great, I'd use this somewhere else again.I ignored some of the negative reviews that said the adhesive didn't hold up well. I should've listened. I initially bought 2 of these packs to use in various closets in our new place. I loved the sleek look (only reason I'm not giving these a 1 star). A month ago one of the hooks came off the wall. I figured it may have been an anomaly, but then another fell off just a week or 2 ago. All I had hanging from it were 2 empty laundry bags. Couldn't have weighed more than a few ounces. That shouldn't happen. It's past the return date & I have no way of contacting the seller. $30+ out the window. Lesson learned...only command hooks from now on, no matter how much nicer these look.ETA: downgraded to 1 star. shortly after I posted this review, 2 more hooks fell off the wall. I really wish Amazon's refund window was longer. it's hard to know sometimes when a product isn't working as expected.We took these to Costa Rica and used them in our walk-in showers to hold bathing suits or towels. Perfect for allowing the suits to drip-dry, or to have your towel within reach.They were placed directly on the shower tile at the entry wall where they do not get wet.After hanging out first set, we liked them so much that we ordered more.We also found use in the laundry room, directly on the wall, to hold our farmer's market/grocery bags.Never ever has a 3M product disappointed us. Sticks very quickly & takes relative heavy load.
